Mrs. Russell, 77, Succumbs
Mrs. Eva Mae Russell, 77, of 1362 Ruge St., died Wednesday in a Salem hospital which she entered Aug. 3 after fracturing her hip in a fall.
She was born March 7, 1880 in Turner, daughter of David and Elizabeth Morris, and lived there 67 years. She married Hugh Russell in 1902, they celebrated their golden anniversary in 1952. About 10 years ago they moved to Salem.
In Turner she belonged to the Methodist Church, Friendly Neighbors Club, and Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Mrs. Russell raised flowers and took special pride in her garden.
She leaves her widow, Hugh; a son, Kenneth, Turner; a daughter Mrs. Grace A. Pesola, Seattle; two sisters, Mrs. Grace A. Thomas, Salem; and Mrs. Julia Turner, Portland; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Clough-Barrick Funeral Home.
