OBITUARY: 
ALEM -Mae Elizabeth Kreger, 89, of Salem passed away peacefully Thursday at the Brookstone Alzheimer's Special Care Center.
The daughter of Charles and Anna Schulze, Mae was born in Crawfordsville, Oregon in the home of her parents. Her parents moved to the Millersburg area where she graduated from Albany High School in 1939. She met Irvin Kreger while picking hops in the Dever-Conner area. She married Irvin in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Albany, Oregon on June 23, 1940.
In 1945, they moved to a farm outside of Turner, Oregon that became their home for the remainder of their life. They raised three sons, Wayne, Curtis, and Keith and one daughter Twila on the farm. Along with being a spouse of a farmer and mother of four children, she enjoyed sewing and dancing. She was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She loved her Cloverdale community neighbors and never forgot their generosity when the Kreger home burnt in 1948.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin (1996); daughter, Twila (2005); granddaughter, Monica; four sisters and one brother. She is survived by her sister, Ellen McFarland; sons, Wayne (Janet), Curtis (Judy) and Keith. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service with family and friends is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on January 6, 2012 at the Cloverdale Cemetery. A memorial service is scheduled at Calvary Lutheran Church, 198 Fern Ridge Road, Stayton OR 97383 for January 6, 2012 at 1:00. Online condolences and memories at www.HED-FH.com.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Brookstone for their love and supportive care of Mae. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church organ fund.
