OBITUARY:
MORTENSEN - At the family home on Howell Prairie, seven miles east of Salem, at 5 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 1897, Mrs. Marie Mortensen, aged 61 years, 1 month and 5 days, of heart failure.
Deceased was a sister of Mrs. Hanson, who resided south of this city, and was a highly respected resident or [sic- of] this county, in which she has resided for 24 years.
Funeral services will be conducted from the family home at 11 a.m., Thursday, Rev. J. B. Early officiating. The remains will be interred in the Eoff cemetery.
