OBITUARY: BEAVERTON—Robert E. Dungey, 63, of Beaverton, formerly of Salem, died Saturday. He was born in La Grande and moved to the Fairfield area of Salem as a young child. He was a 1941 graduate of Gervais High School and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. After the war he returned to Salem where he worked 40 years in the lumber products industry. His first job was with Oregon Pulp & Paper Co. and he moved to Beaverton in 1985 to work for Mercer Industries Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Trudy; son, Norman Penn, Salem; daughters Pat Hillman, Salem, Lisa Windsor, Newberg; mother Nellie Dungey, Gervais; sisters Ida Lesher, Salem; Barbara Bernard, St. Paul, Mildred Lamb, Whittier, Calif,; brother, Ralph, Keizer.
Memorial services are pending at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary, Salem.
