OBITUARY: 
ALBANY—Miles Arthur, 70, of 1040 E. 5th Ave. died Thursday at an Albany hospital. Born at La Grande, Arthur lived in the Pendleton and Hermiston areas until moving to the Mid-Willamette Valley. He lived in Salem 10 years, moving to Albany about 12 years ago. He was a logger and in recent years a custodian at Albany Public Library. He was a member of Eastside Christian Church and Eagles.
Survivors include widow Alma; daughter Janet Bryant, Scio; sons Dale and Glen, both Salem, Joe, Jefferson, Purle, Cottage Grove, Douglas Albany, and Robert with the U. S. Army in Korea; sister Minnie Bossert and half-brother Ivan Sutton, both Salem; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Marion Cemetery, Rev. David Nolte officiating. Fisher mortuary is in charge.
