OBITUARY: 
Royal J. Barber, 82, of 1870 Market St. NE, died Thursday in the St. Francis nursing home.
He was born in Marion, and moved to Salem in 1930.
He was a World War II veteran and a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include his sisters Gladys Boyce, Salem, Doris Robbins, Turner, Marian Stafford, Coos Bay, Elma Costa, San Jose, Calif., and Frances Snyder, Portland; and brother, Wayne, Eugene.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Virgil T. Golden mortuary. Private interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Marion.
