1930 OR CENSUS - James L. Uebelman, age 25, married at age 23, occupation cobbler, b. North Dakota, is enumerated with wife Elizabeth M., age 21, married at age 19, b. Canada, along with son James Jr., age 1, b. Oregon.
OBITUARY: 
James L. Uebelman Sr., 69, 890 Judson St. SE, former owner of Jim’s Shoe Service, 183 High St., died Wednesday night in a Salem hospital.
He owned the shoe service for 43 years before retiring but shortly after bought Walt’s Shoe Repair, 233 High St. NE, which he ran for several months before retiring again. A native of Cando, N.D., he came to Salem 44 years ago.
Surviving him are widow Elizabeth; son James and daughter Mrs. Kathryn Johnson, both of Salem; brother William Brandbo in Michigan; sisters Marie Wynn, Harve, Mont., Lillian Kusmac, Denver, Colo., and Margaret Berglund and Rose Schock, both Tacoma, Wash.; nine grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary. Interment will be in Friends Cemetery near Marion.
