Ella Emma Adaila (Berner) Lauman
September 7, 1914 - July 2, 2007
MARION - Ella Emma Adaila (Berner) Lauman of Marion, Ore. died July 2nd, 2007 in La Grande of natural causes. She was born in Cummings County, Neb. on September 7th, 1914. It was in Nebraska where she met and married her husband, Clifford W. Lauman. They were wed on February 12, 1929, and were happily married for 70 years. Ella and Cliff made their home in Nebraska, where Ella’s first child, Jeanne Ellen, was born in 1933. In 1940, they moved to Calif.; where Ella’s second child, Jimmie Eugene, was born in 1941. In 1950, the young family relocated once again to Marion, Ore., where Ella’s third child, Anita Louise, was born in 1951.
Ella enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, flowers, birds, and crocheting. She always had a pet dog and or a cat. She worked for ten years as the school cook at Marion Elementary School. Ella made Marion her home for 56 years. She created many friendships in that small community, where she attended the Marion Friends Church. She moved to Powell Butte in 2005 to live with her daughter Anita Dewey and moved again in 2006 to live with her son Jim Lauman.
Her beloved husband Cliff preceded Ella in death on February 1st, 2000. Ella loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Jeanne McCauley of Springfield, Anita Dewey of Powell Butte; her son, Jimmie Lauman of Summerville; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7th at Marion Friends Church. Arrangements are by Weddle Funeral Home, Stayton.
